JVD’s Metal Meltdown Invitational - A Deep Dive into Hell and Extreme Metal

The night is dark and full of terrors....​

What is it? -

Similar to sideBots Metal, we will go down an even grimmer and darker hole into the world of extreme metal and all that encompasses. Outside of some specific rounds, I encourage that we keep it songs with no cleans vocals, or where they are not more than 50% of the vocals. Don't worry as this won't be the case for every round, but we are trying to avoid mainstream radio metal to encourage discovery. I also encourage people to take themes into their scoring. I want to also make this a bit less competitive so deadlines will not be super tight.

I do however, want to stress this is meant to be for people who want to do it, so please only sign up if this sounds like your jam. Let's keep it super light too.

When will this start?

April 20th 2024. I want to give people time to chill before we start.

How will scoring work?

Sidebots system - rank best to worse.

Who is eligible?

Everyone who finished Metal Sidebots of course! If you were in Sidebots and dropped out, please get in this thread and request that you want to be in so I know you are serious
I also added a few people from the metal thread who I think who may be interested.

Please tell me even if you DON'T want to be in. The number of participants will determine how I do categories.

Also I'm interested but I have to admit I don't listen to the most extreme genres of metal such as Death or Grind, I do like clean vocals in my music, so I'm not sure how well I would do in this.

This will be 12 rounds but will not be head to head it will based off of song rankings round to round and whoever has the best average at the end of the season. This theme for the round is heavy metal We will be starting up probably around January…depending on when the Mixtape challenge starts...
