Fair enough and its not such a problem on communtary. But I do think JBL as a striaght up heel was much better. And the product does get over more when you have straight heels and faces, just my opinion of course.

The problem with straight up heeling it at the announce desk is that half of the time, the shit they say just makes zero fucking sense at all.

Makes them seem like they aren't a real person with made up opinions. JBL rootin' for Rusev would be like that Nazi shit he pulled a few years back that got tons of flack. Being a full heel on commentary always feels forced.
JBL is just a goof hamming it up and telling inside jokes.
Most are, hear Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg do that on broadcasts and the play by play guys doing that when I watch hockey or other sports.

JBL doesn't do heelish things, the guy works with kids in Bermuda, he climbs mountains to raise money for sick kids and he started the whole Tribute to The Troops thing. This isn't the days of Ventura or Heenan being dicks in public 24/7. Only heelish thing JBL does these days is talk on Fox News.
