Vince Russo has posted a blog entry over at csrwrestling.com, discussing Monday’s Raw and Sami Zayn. Here is an excerpt…

“Last night RAW experienced its lowest rating of the year, and of course out came the excuses that it was up against the second round of the NBA playoffs. Now, while that is indeed a fact, it had nothing to do with the rating bottoming out. The numbers sunk to new 2015 lows because the casual television fans for that night chose the NBA over RAW because the NBA was indeed the better show of the evening. However, had it been another time, another era, say Austin vs. Rock circa 1997—-it wouldn’t have mattered if LeBron James was matching up with Julius freaking’ Erving—the television viewer was watching wrestling that night.

However, everybody is running to the defense of the WWE, claiming that RAW was a great show on Monday night. WHY was it great in their opinion? Simply because an NXT wrestler that they all mark out for, Sami Zayn, made his surprise appearance on the WWE’s premiere show. I can only imagine when Sami got introduced by Bret Hart and came out as a surprise through the RAW entrance—to the Internet Wrestling Community is was the equivalent of Jesus himself showing up unannounced at the Sea of Galilee. But to the casual wrestling fan—nobody cared—to them this was a jobber and nothing more–so they indeed turned back to hoops.

RAW is a television show and Sami Zayn is NOT a television star—nor—will he be anytime soon. Sami is an exceptional wrestler on a wrestling show, and the only people who care about him are those die hard wrestling fans who are looking for 5-star matches that the massive don’t give a !@#$% about.”

Blaming the debuting guy who wasn't advertised? :duck:

Guy still clinging to Nielsens like it's not deader than Frank Drebin

Attitude era started almost 20 years ago and Russo still holding onto it. It's getting sad

:lmao the best RAW of the year has the lowest rating. Too bad none of the things that made it such a great RAW were advertised or even hinted about beforehand.

At least when I blamed Punk and Bryan tanking the ratings it was true.

- Vince Russo has posted a new blog entry , discussing Kevin Owens debut on Raw and that he feels Vince McMahon forgot how to make stars. Here is an exerpt…

When Sami Zayn first came out to the WWE Universe on a national stage . . . there was no IMPACT—the guy was presented as just “another wrestler”. I don’t care what anybody says, in a year nobody will remember that debut. Prior to that that was the Ascension—that was so laughable you “almost” have to think it was intentional. That was followed with Adrian Neville . . . WOW . . . that guy can really get height off the top. You forgot it by thenext week. Then of course , this week there was Kevin Owens. A guy who looked like he just came from Gleason’s Gym, where he was training to be a “rassler”. Owens didn’t look like a star, he didn’t smell like a star, as a matter of fact he looked like a guy that could have possibly jumped the guardrail. Which reminds me—I STILL REMEMBER Hillbilly Jim when he was “presented” as “somebody” the first time we saw him on WWE TV. And, Owens dropping Cena? That did nothing but make the 115th time World Champ look bad.

Save your hate mail. This isn’t a Kevin Owens thing, just like it wasn’t a Sami Zayn thing, just like it wasn’t a Adrian Neville thing, just like it wasn’t an Ascension thing. Those guys are strictly employees who get paid to do what the boss says to go out and do—that boss is Vince McMahon. Somewhere along the line, shortly after the Attitude Era (what a coincidence), Vince McMahon forgot how to make stars. He forgot how to create them, how to manufacture them, and how to get them over. When you think about it, who has gotten over to SUPER stardom in the last fifteen years? I’m talking household names? In my opinion that list is quite small, as a matter of fact I’d put two people on it—-Kurt Angle and John Cena. OK, I’ll even allow you to put the beloved Daniel Bryan on there if you wish—but his success had NOTHING to do with creative, other than being given the platform to perform.

I know, I know.....

I swear this guy thinks that anything that wasn't his idea is terrible. Might be no bigger mark than Vince Russo

I will defend Russo to the death most times, but WWE's booking of the indy midgets has been nothing short of miraculous.

I never thought I would give a fuck about neckbeard Steen but he's looked a badass from the off...no idea what Vinru is getting at there...

His critiques also contradict the way he has debuted most of the guys he tried making stars like Mike Sanders and every debut in TNA during his tenure.
