* Seth Rollins kicks off SmackDown and gets major heat. Fans chant “you sold out” and Rollins mocks them, telling them to keep the heat coming. Rollins says the fans would sell out as well. Rollins talks about Dean Ambrose and says he doesn’t belong inside Hell In a Cell, he belongs in a straight-jacket. Dolph Ziggler comes out and says the fans want to see him, not Rollins. Ziggler drops the mic and dropkicks Rollins to a big pop. That match starts right away.

* Seth Rollins defeated Dolph Ziggler with a Curb Stomp in a non-title match. Dean Ambrose came out to a big pop after the match. Ambrose talks about what he’s going to do to Rollins at Hell In a Cell but is interrupted by Kane’s music. Kane puts himself in the main event against Ambrose for later tonight.

* Layla vs. AJ Lee is up next. Paige and Alicia Fox watch from ringside. AJ gets the win with a Black Widow. After the match, Alicia rushes the ring but AJ counters her. Paige comes in the ring and lays AJ out with her finisher.

* Backstage segment with Sheamus and The Usos.

* A Wyatt Family vignette airs.

* Sheamus and The Usos vs. Stardust, Goldust and The Miz is next. Sheamus gets the win for his team after a Brogue Kick to Goldust.

* Big Show comes out to a big pop. Show talks about how he’s going to destroy Rusev at Hell In a Cell. He asks Mark Henry to come to the ring. Show asks Henry to stay out of the match at Hell In a Cell and Henry says he will. They were interrupted by Rusev and Lana, who cut a promo about Hell In a Cell.

* Nikki Bella defeated Naomi with her finisher.

* Renee Young interviews Dean Ambrose backstage.

* Dean Ambrose vs. Kane is next in the main event. Seth Rollins is at ringside. Ambrose won by DQ when Rollins pulled the rope back. After the match, they attacked Ambrose. Kane powerbombed him and Rollins went for a Curb Stomp but Ambrose ended up hitting Kane with the chair while Rollins ran away to the stage.

So the holding pattern continues.

Sick of SmackDown and how boring it looks every single week. Granted I don't watch the show so I dont know if it turns out better than it looks on paper, but my point still stands.

It needs some serious amount of energy and excitement injecting into it.

What do you guys think about a Brand Split again? It would mix it up rather than seeing the same people doing the same thing on both shows week after week. Maybe establish some of these younger guys properly by giving them more exposure rather than have them get a bit of momentum only to lose it when they lose to the top guys.

They don't have the roster depth to do a successful brand split.

Just do like an NXT showcase match every week, use some different guys on the show for a change I mean for fucks sake would it really be that hard for them to do the Kofi/Xavier/E stuff on SmackDown?

Smackdown always was the red headed stepchild show.

Not sure why, Thursdays would be a fine night for wrestling, and since it's just a show wrestling fans watch, may as well make it a wrestling show. The angles from Monday could fuck off for one night, shouldn't be that hard.

It's been the number one cable show on Friday night for so many weeks I don't think they care. Why fix what's not broken?

It could easily be filled in though if they used it to highlight the us and IC divisions

Just going off the WWE website, there is 38 active male singles wrestlers. 15 divas, 5 genuine tag teams and 2 midgets. Drag Raw back to being 2 hours and Smackdown up to being two hours again.

Divas champ, tag champs and wwe champ go on both brands.

your best guy feuds with the champ. your next 2-4 best guys feud with each other to get a shot at the champ. Then your next 4-6 guys feud over the second tier belt. throw in a divas and a tag match per week. Only thing that you would need to do is make up a couple of tag teams to create that depth.

example (taking the belts off ziggler and sheamus):
WWE Champ: Brock
Top 10 guys (5 on each brand): John Cena, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan
IC and US Champs: Miz, Rusev
Next 10 guys (5 on each brand): Bo Dallas, Sandow, Swagger, BNB, Fandango, Rtruth, Rusev, Kidd, Big E, Kofi

Tag Team Champs: Gold n Star Dust
Tag teams: Usos, Wyatts, Diego/fernando, Slater Gator, Henry/Show, Rybaxel,

That doesn't even include the jobbers, and it gives guys that are struggling a chance to shine.

Who in the hell drags raw back to 2 hours? Wwe is paid more for three. USA gets higher ratings for the first than they were getting in that slot historically, which helps ensure them as the number 1 cable network. No one in their right mind makes raw a 2 hour show as a higher up.

SD can go back to Thursdays probably after football season, and maybe they can have a role, but it doesn't make sense to pillage NXT either when its growing and manifesting into so ring bigger and organic. You can cut the two superstars matches and make it an all out recap show, but your really can't do that to Main Event which has more global licensing.

The best thing for NXT is to slowly make small house show trips out of Florida and become a mini ecw like group that beats to its on drum and builds a cult following with live specials, house shows, and the like.

And the reason the brand split worked so well btw was separate ppvs outside the big 4. It really sold the idea and concept as two separate brands or companies. They even admittedly split their audience as the peak of the brand split only saw raw and sd share a third of the same viewers, and the vast majority were two separate audiences with different tastes

How about someone that actually watches SmackDown comments on this? Like you know me?

I honestly enjoyed the Rollins/Ziggler match and the 6-man tag. The sappy bullshit bein' portrayed by Show and Henry went on way too long but Rusev does need to fuck off. The main event was standard as fuck and should have been something else. HOWEVER KANE FELT AGGRESSIVE so you know he had get into a match where Rollins causes a DQ and he doesn't care. Yeah, that was SmackDown!
