Johnny Tsunami touched on this in the Maiden Voyage thread, but I thought I'd give it a bigger spotlight. When coming up with something to change the initials to from XWF I came up with AMA Wrestling based on a name I no longer liked as I'm picky af (and it turns out it was a martial arts school) and I turn on things quickly. But I loved the initials and didn't want to change them or the logo so I began brainstorming other ideas like All Martial Arts Wrestling, All Mid-Atlantic Wrestling, Amalgam Wrestling and one of my more favorite names Absolute Mayhem and Anarchy Wrestling. My only issue with that one is having an and in the title. Figured I could still use it as the tagline much like I would also use Against Medical Advice (AMA). After toying some more with words for Martial Arts, like Amalgamated, to be the name to match Frontier Martial-arts Wrestling, I thought of Ancient Martial Arts Wrestling, but that didn't sit well because it sounds like a really old style of standard martial arts and not a pro wrestling style of MMA (which is why I also liked AMA as initials), but then I went back to Mid-Atlantic Wrestling. It had history and class and most of the cities would probably be on the East coast that we use as venues and I love my WCW history. Mid-Atlantic also just means crossing the Atlantic ocean so it could also kind of mean international in that context. Then I thought Ancient as in Ancient Olympic Games, Ancient Greece, where wrestling hailed from, how about Ancient Mid-Atlantic Wrestling? A company that's mission statement is to be the flagship barrier for representing the ancient traditions of lucha libre, Japanese strong style and professional wrestling and more importantly the Mid-Atlantic style of pro wrestling.
Long story short thoughts on the name and the reason behind it and if it works and if you think something better would do while retaining AMA?
