If we're running ideas for Hoss, I'd definitely recommend a South West based company from California known as Golden State Wrestling, who have long since run their competition out of the region and have sole control of California, but in the late 1970s, the two co-owners, members of an elite wrestling family, had a falling out and the company split apart into the current version of GSW, and the other half turned into the Las Vegas based Silver State Wrestling.

I do like this gimmick. I currently have a company called Gold Standard Wrestling, which was renamed from Golden State Wrestling as it just so happens, but I'll definitely consider incorporating this idea.

I think in my universe, wrestling will be a bit more "modern" culturally. I think it's fair to say that throughout history, wrestling has rarely been up-to-date culturally... mainly during the Rock n Wrestling and Attitude Eras, and perhaps currently, would I say that wrestling's presentation was truly with the times. I feel like some wrestling from the early 80s may as well be from the 60s :lol With my mod being set in 1980, I want wrestlers with characters that will reflect the times, rather than being archaic.

Also, my current concept is to have 3 companies in the US who are vying to become the first truly national company. 2 of them will be a little further ahead, but I'm hoping I can balance in such a way that the 3rd will have a chance to pull in front anyways under the right circumstances.

Could have it where the smaller of the 3 has big financial backing and more popularity in their home region compared to the other two.

On a scale of 1-10, how offputting would AI character models be to you all? I know that they're being used pretty widely in the TEW community these days. Obviously, some people aren't feeling it, but it seems mostly accepted - seeing as people are just using them for their own personal fun and don't create these mods for any financial gain.

If I had any 3d animation skills whatsoever, I would consider making the character models manually, but realistically that's just not gonna happen. Perhaps, if I create this mod and it actual becomes something, someone who does have the talent will be willing to do that job for me, but that's a very distant hypothetical.

For the time being, I have been toying with an AI program to start creating character models that may be used in the database.

I'm guilty of using the Microsoft copilot image generator for some TEW logos myself already :slip:

Well fwiw I'd make the logos and such. Only really interested in using it to create the characters. Which I must say, as much as I think AI art on an industry level is bullshit, it's a lot of fun to make these characters and the results are impressive.

I used it for title belts which worked well, show logos kinda sucked but I ended up getting one I liked, don't think I'd wanna go through the process for each monthly PPV.

I also used it to de-age an announcer that generated and I signed that had an old guy pic base even tho he was 23, that worked well

I say go right ahead since you're not really looking to profit off of their use, it'd be more than fine to use for databases and pics.

I mean yeah morally I only think it's an issue if you'd otherwise have paid someone to do it which obviously you wouldn't have lol using AI to make offline video games more fun is the least of it's issues

Another batch of models done, and I've started compiling rosters for the major US companies as well. So far, the biggest one is most of the way fleshed out, with the other two having about half of their rosters penciled in, and a smattering of other wrestlers in the minor companies.
