What can you say about Bruiser that hasn't already been said before. The man was a pioneer in the Hardcore/Deathmatch style of wrestling and was great at playing his gimmick. He is one of the few wrestlers that is often imitated, but never duplicated. It is sad how his life was taken and basically no one answered for what happened. He really was a wrestler that was taken before his time or even the very peak of it could be achieved.

1988 - Frank Goodish, better known as Bruiser Brody, is stabbed in a shower stall in the locker room of Juan Lobriel Stadium in Bayamon, Puerto Rico by wrestler (and WWC part-owner) Jose Gonzalez (aka Invader I) prior to a WWC event. Brody is taken to a hospital, but dies on the operating table later that night (technically the morning of July 17th) from blood loss. Gonzalez is charged with first degree murder, but is later acquitted. Brody, a true legend in the business, particularly in Japan, was 42 years old.

Very sad day today, Brody actually died on the 17th, but he was stabbed on this date in 1988.

I really wish I would have got to see more Bruiser when I was a little kid. I believe I would have been enamored by him.

Whenever I watch anything of Bruiser Brody it makes me think he was the "anti" Hulk Hogan and I can't get that want to see a program with them two back in the day out of my dreams.
