If they purchased Activision Blizzard for like 68 million I doubt Valve is going for that low since it would include Steam but it's possible.

The rumors are that Xbox wants to be able to have steam games on their next console and to entice PC players to buy their console and buying Valve would definitely do it.

The mindset is just all wrong though. This is like if a country was a resource from another country and instead of thinking about a trade or other kind of deal, they immediately go to "We gonna take the whole country."

I wish I could just think that PC players wouldn't be that stupid, to immediately run buying XBoxes, just because Steam's gonna be available on it... but I know how it is.

Yeah no, Gabe Newell would never seriously offer a deal like that, especially considering Steam on its own nets Valve billions of dollars in revenue. It'd be a short-term gain for a company that doesn't need to do anything to continue to prove that by virtue of its business model continues to lead the gaming industry.
