AMA New Grading System: Best Promo Wins

Awesome. At bare minimum this is how it should be.

So if we do this for the single matches and then the tag team matches that I think we will stick with the best promo overall because I do think that rule definitely solves the tag team issue. I’ll leave this up for a bit.

Before settling on the best way to do it.

But let me try to make a guess:

Tag team matches: Best individual promo wins... Except when it doesn't and someone has a partner who does something like, idk, eat their own vomit.


Then "Best promo wins" for singles matches, because apparently people post multiple promos and that has cost people even though I haven't seen it happen at least in the two shows I have been involved in?

This isn’t so much issue with Grading and more an issue with people‘s perception of the grading where people complain because they can only post one promo it’s been something I’ve been dealing with for like six months I don’t want to name names but there was one time when someone exploded in the chat box because they could only post one promo and they were mad because we didn’t have a one promo rule so I’m just trying to figure out the most fair way of doing it.

I think either way, once all this is sorted, I think you may need to make a new rules thread, since the old one is a touch out of date.

Just apply this rule to tag teams and leave everything else the same as it’s always been. I don’t want this become another huge issue. Far too many of those.

Yeah I 100% support clarity here and yeah while its been good times lately I can understand smark just wants ppl to know how we grade and for all of us who do grade to all be on the same page

When it comes to tag team decision - i dont know exactly who all the other judges are, but I trust everyone to just be fairly straight up. Everyone votes differently anyway and likes different things, but whenever I am stuck at a crossroad - I like to tell Smark if it was really close.

^ ditto n always a good thing to be honest in your grading. I always try to add some text if there's some tightness n usually will offer a few booking solution to consider. It's good to be flexible sometimes

Generally with tag teams - if it is two people on each team. 1st & 3rd best roleplays - at least from fmpov (but 1st is still winning).

If people post 2nd & 3rd best roleplay - I generally feel that 1st best roleplay 9 times out 10 often wins anyone. The exception to the rule is often a lazy / random / no show roleplay that I don't think finishes 4th but rather just last. Which can be a real pain to their partner.

When one person roleplays as an entire team themselves - best roleplay wins is often a good policy, but I think they have to be prepared to lose sometimes if they are facing two singles opponents who also post amazing works.

Tag teams have always been complicated - and there is never one good approach to judging

They can post one per character or one team promo.

Regardless of which way they do it, best promo wins.
