WWE'S LANA & RUSEV
RUSEV'S GONNA RETIRE UNDERTAKER... CRUSH His Old Ass!

2:00 PM PT -- WWE has announced that Rusev will be replaced by Chris Jericho in the Casket Match vs. The Undertaker... after Lana voiced a complaint.

"I’ve already spoke with WWE officials to change that match because I REFUSE to let my husband compete in a Casket Match," Lana wrote on social media.

Rusev added -- "Life is life ... it will be Rusev Day somewhere."

Unclear if this is a work or if an actual issue prompted Rusev's removal from the event.

Stay tuned ...

The Undertaker just smashed John Cena at WrestleMania, but his next opponent -- and his smokin' hot wife -- say he's gonna make the Deadman REST ... IN ... PEACE.

We got superstars Rusev and Lana just hours after WWE announced Undertaker vs. Rusev at their Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia ... and the power couple told us Taker's about to take his last ride in the ring.

"Undertaker is a little bit in the past," Rusev told TMZ Sports at The Henry in WeHo. "I'll beat him so bad it may be his last fight."

Lana chimed in -- "You're gonna obviously crush him. He's stronger and faster and better."

Rusev admits Undertaker's one of the GOATs, and has home-field advantage for their CASKET MATCH ... but says he ain't sweatin' it since "Rusev Day" is equally legendary.

We dunno, bro ... looks pretty intense.

So it looks like this TMZ interview with Rusev came out a few hours before he got replaced by Jericho and some are saying it might have been the last straw with WWE officials. Michelle McCool even reacted to it:

I'm still hoping it's just an elaborate angle on the IWC. We'll see.

Yeah, let's belittle a guy who has done more for the business than some former playmate and a guy who was floundering for years.

Smart move.

It’s Britney, bitch
I have a feeling it was Rusev just staying in character and promoting the match before he was replaced. I don’t think there was any real malice in what he said .

you're taught in wrestling school that you don't bury your opponent....he's old? Then if you beat him....you heat an old man....and if you lose and he would've definitely lost...he just lost to an old man.

Good job...you played yourself.

Rusev has officially changed his name to his real name on Instagram and has his booking email present now.

I doubt this is a storyline. WWE felt that Rusev disrespected Taker so decided to replace him with Jericho. Much ado about nothing anyway.

Rusev had a match scheduled against The Undertaker at the Greatest Royal Rumble until Lana apparently said she didn’t want her husband in a Casket Match against the Dead Man in Saudi Arabia.

This strangely happened after TMZ caught up with Lana and Rusev where Rusev alluded to the fact that The Undertaker is old and past his prime. Chris Jericho was put in Rusev’s spot for a few days until the Lion Of Bulgaria was finally put back in his initial spot once again.

This makes little sense to a lot of people but Brad Shepard of Bodyslam.net had an explanation of why Rusev was taken out of the match in the first place.

“A source in WWE told me that somebody in the office was definitely rubbed the wrong way by the initial comments Rusev made to TMZ (where he referenced Undertaker as being old). WWE is very sensitive to the potential of offending old timers they realized Undertaker wasn’t offended. They put Rusev back in the match.”

So it looks like this was a case of WWE playing it safe until they realized that The Undertaker didn’t care what Rusev said on TMZ and then the match was suddenly back on and Jericho was out of the match just as quickly as he was put in.
So some thin-skinned WWE official thought Taker's feelings were hurt and then realized Undertaker could give two shits?

Someone saw that Michelle tweet and started sweating :TI: Taker probably was pissed bc he couldn't stiff the fuck out of him and said put him back in
