Gather round the campfire and tell us a tale as old as time, a story of fear, excitement, and shivers galore. Some of the most famous books and pieces of literature based upon the horrors of the waking world and the intense panic of the imaginative mind have all found themselves on the Silver Screen, to shock audiences, and awe them into terrifying nightmares. Now, our wonderful users here at WrestlingSmarks will delve into the world of the fantastical and the spooky to find out just which film is this site's favorite of the Atomic Era of Horror.

For those who may not know what is horror, and which is not, for the purposes of this and any upcoming lists, any movie that is considered "Horror", "Thriller" (See: Misery, Fatal Attraction, Cape Fear, etc.) or "Horror Comedy" are eligible for this list. Select your top five favorite films of the era; these films will be points based, with your #1 film being worth 50 points, and your #5 film being worth 10. Any horror movie released between 1950 and 1959 will be eligible for the list.

The countdown is set to begin on May 22nd, 2023. Send in your movies via private message, and don't have too many nightmares, now~

Actually, there is one movie that has to be number one, and if it isn't...I will be big mad and ignore everyone who didn't vote for it

Just curious... Does "Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy" count? Not telling whether I will pick it. I am just curious.

Oh and thank Grim and his extremely large dick for doing these fun lists :)

Per the rules I set forth: "Horror", "Thriller" (See: Misery, Fatal Attraction, Cape Fear, etc.) or "Horror Comedy" are eligible for this list.

Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein made the last list, so Abott & Costello Meet the Mummy would certainly count as well.

I guess it is a horror comedy... I kinda always saw it just as a comedy though, which is what got me thinking about it.

I had to check, because one of the first movies that came to my mind was The Day The Earth Stood Still, but it's classified everywhere as "just" a Sci-Fi Movie. This gonna be a heck of a countdown, because those 10 years really got the ball rolling in the horror genre, with so many different directions, imo.

TBF, Sci-Fi counts as a horror film for the purposes of this list, most Sci-Fi films of the era were basically horror films.

So I guess it's going to be a "Your Mileage May Vary" list.
