I was at this show and I remember absolutely losing it when I heard The Rock’s music hit, it was an unexpected fun surprise for me that night.

Also on this day in Wrestling history:

1963 – Bruno Sammartino defeated the “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers by submission to win the WWWF World Heavyweight Title in Madison Square Garden in New York City. This was the first time the championship would change hands and Sammartino would go on to reign as champion for almost eight years.

The HHH line always gets me :lmao

Crazy that its what led into Eugene's most prominent storyline too, even as young as I was at the time I was impressed it wasn't just a throwaway line like I expected at the time it happened

This is one of my favourite debuts to the main roster and it always makes me happy to think back on how well the feud with Cena went and how much of a boost it was for KO right out of the gate. They really made him feel like a big deal, I remember being totally shocked when he upset Cena during their 2015 Elimination Chamber match. Outside of Punk and AJ, that is one of the guys I felt Cena had some of the best chemistry with.

And the game was changed.

I still say outside of Brock ending the Streak, KO beating Cena clean in his main roster debut is the biggest shock of the decade.

I feel like at this point if you were still watching WWE (as I was) you just accepted Vince was going to do his whims and nothing would make sense whatsoever but you couldn't look away from the car crash. This is one of the best examples of it, the dark ages were crazy, that old man was doing anything he wanted on and off screen and everyone lapped it up lmao

I remember being upset at the time but now I can look back and laugh because it was funny. Plus, it gave us Boombox Brock so that’s a win too.

The whole Brock/Heyman segment where Heyman read the rules of the MITB made it worth it
