Grim Rants About Wrestling

Chris

Dreams are Endless
Yeah the way the nWo was handled in 2002 might actually be more annoying bc it showed promise like 3 separate times when they'd kinda reset them and that momentum was promptly killed within a few weeks :lol Booker/Goldust stuff was absolutely hilarious. Booker was so poised to breakout but of course we know what happened in 2003

It fucking sucks cuz it's just the worst possible circumstances.

Could you imagine a nWo that had:

Hollywood Hogan
Shawn Michaels
Kevin Nash
Scott Hall
X-Pac
Big Show
Booker T

Fuck man, that could have been at least a little more entertaining.

I liked your Boss Man shout too, he wasn't in the best shape in 2002 but it woulda been a good role for him at the time at least as the fall guy/bodyguard type role

Steve Austin has walked out because of the whole Brock Lesnar thing, and now every single superstar just buries him. I'm thinking to myself, what the fuck? Yes, him walking out is kind of shitty, but he's your biggest star in fucking years and you've literally been wasting his entire year on bullshit after bullshit? His feud with the nWo? Wasn't even against Hogan, his feud against the Undertaker? Quickly dropped in favor of more nWo stuff. His feud with Flair? Of course he's gonna be pissed he's not in the main picture. Hell, they threw Eddie Guerrero at him and it too was quickly forgotten. The final straw being that you're gonna have Brock Lesnar beat him on a random RAW for the King of the Ring tournament instead of fucking building to it? Austin was absolutely in the right that WWE creative was fucking shit in their utilization of Austin. Austin vs. Brock is the kind of match you build the main event of a PPV over, or at the very least, you make a god damn Semi-Final. So fucking frustrating seeing Steve Austin every week look just so done with the company's direction.

TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION
D-Von Dudley went nowhere in his singles run and floundered as a jobber until the Dudleys returned.
If that hadn't happened, maybe Batista would be remembered among the Heidenreichs and Luther Reigns instead of among the top stars of his era

Counter-argument, Triple H and other high ranking officials saw something in Batista far more than Heidenreich or Luther Reigns, which is why the first chance they got, Triple H convinced the writing team to make him a member of Evolution.

It's entirely possible that Batista might not necessarily have been a member of Evolution as early as he was, but I have no doubt he'd have been a main eventer in some fashion down the line.

I do not like Shawn being in the nWo, he kicks out Booker T who was starting to be great, and then he kicks out the Big Show who was more of an OG member than he ever was. Then they're gonna claim Triple H is gonna join despite never delivering on that promise. God this is such a fucking train wreck.

The same show though we get Undertaker vs. Jeff Hardy in a ladder match and I will say this, it is such an effective mega push for Jeff Hardy (despite his demons eventually getting in the way), and it was a great way to turn Taker face at the same time after his nearly six-month-long heel run. Just a great match overall with JR screaming for Jeff Hardy to climb the ladder.

During our 2002 watch (that I really miss) that was one of my favorite shows when we got to it. Was fucking hyped for that match.

Lmao Raw was a mess around this time. Wasn't the build to HHH/Michaels started with HHH turning on Michaels, then Michaels getting attackedby an UNKNOWN ASSAILANT, who was revealed to be HHH, after HHH showed concern....? Which was already AFTER turning on Michaels?

At least BOOKDUST is incoming.

That build hasn't actually happened yet, it was fucking preceded by Shawn and the nWo basically threatening HHH. (And then Nash tore his quad).

Bookdust has actually been a thing for months now.

So Barry has been thinking dumbass thoughts, and it's time he comes clean...

Why the fuck did WCW never do a nWo Canada sub-stable? It was right fucking there. You callously threw Bret Hart into the nWo, why the fuck didn't you make him split off and make his own stable? You had most of the Hart Foundation with Davey Boy and Jim Neidhart.

So, in an effort to be completely dumb and meme-worthy, allow me to present who I think should have been in nWo Canada: Pink and Black

Alright, here are the members:

Bret Hart (obviously the leader)
Chris Jericho
Chris Benoit
Davey Boy Smith
Jim Neidhart
Lance Storm
Carl Oulette & Jacques Rougeau
Curt Hennig
Rick Rude

:side:

Okay, that's all. Get outta here.

Interesting idea Grim.

Not having a nWo Canada is a huge missed opportunity for WCW to cash in on the nWo craze. He would be the perfect leader and would've caused a lot of noise in the company.

Just a fucking hilarious observation, but I was half paying attention when suddenly Goldberg's music starts playing. I whip around to see if Goldberg actually debuts here, but nope, out fucking comes PAT TANAKA with Goldberg's music. :heston

I shit you not, I fucking died laughing.

AND BETTER YET IT'S A MATCH AGAINST GLACIER, FUCK ME RAW. :maury

No wonder WCW went out of business. Hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on a job guy. :lol
