I thought that year he was the best heel going, Cody was cooking in that period. Had he been world champion at the time like many thought he would be, we might not be seeing this Cody, but as you said Hindsight is 20/20

Grotesque was definitely a great heel.

Personally 2013 was when I thought they finally saw something in him. He was over when teaming with his brother and working against The Shield.

Then the 2014 Rumble came along, he came out and got 0 reaction. That’s when I knew it was just a pipe dream

2013 was the first I think we ever saw glimpses of current Cody with that Authority feud

I'm not as high on dashing as most but I did still enjoy it, I just didn't see where people were seeing it as some kind of main event act. Undashing sold me tho

Dashing, Undashing, and the Rhodes family vs Authority story were all amazing imo

His WWE run was way better than people remember. It was literally just the last two years that killed it

I always said I never was a hard on the Stardust stuff as most. The super villain stuff with the Ascension was more interesting than him being a clone of his brother imo.

But there was definitely a time for him to go back to being Cody Rhodes.
