Trained by Colin Delaney, Pepper Parks, and Jordan Lennox, he made his debut in 2014 for Upstate Pro Wrestling. Gaines continued to refine his skills while working for promotions like Pro Wrestling Rampage and Empire State Wrestling. Additionally, he had a few matches with Toronto-based Smash Wrestling.
