It's not been that long. It goes 6, Tokyo Drift, 7. In the story it's been two years tops. I think we went longer before finding out Letty was still alive.
I agree she'll be busy playing Wonder Woman, but that might be the exact reason Universal throws the purse book at her to return. If Dwayne can handle multiple franchises, Gal should be able to. I'm not holding my breath though.
