Jesse Ventura says he's in talks with WWE since Vince McMahon is gone

Dreams are Endless

"I will tell you this," Ventura said. "Now that wrestling has chosen this new direction, shall we call it, Jesse Ventura is in talks with them. But, again, it required them going in this new direction. And I hope you get what I'm saying about the new direction. The direction the company is now going was good enough for Jesse Ventura and the WWE to begin talking again."

I dunno... The phrasing bugs me, honestly. "Now that Wrestling has chosen this new direction"... what a fucking bullshit statement. First of all, WWE didn't really "choose" a new direction, if you think about it and "Wrestling has chosen"? Jesse, there are other companies who already been doing it differently than the WWE for years.

I’m back negotiating with them. We’re in talks right now. In fact, I have contracts with my attorney right now with the WWE. And I can only say that that’s happened because of the change of direction in the company.

We don’t know right now fully [what his role would be]. They want to bring me back under their Legends. You know, I’m an old guy now and you’ve got to have the legends. And, hell, if you go back to WrestleMania I, there ain’t too many of us alive anymore. It’s true. Look at — Roddy’s gone, Orndorff’s gone, Andre’s gone, John Studd’s gone. You start going down WrestleMania I and you’ve got more gone — Junkyard Dog’s gone. The list goes on and on. There’s Hogan, myself, and Tito, and a couple more, we’re the only ones left.

The door is, you know, we’re talking right now about me having some — you know, I’m getting older. I mean, I’m in my 70s now. And I guess I’d just like to open up the door at the end in the wrestling career and see what’s still left there. And it ain’t like I’m going to go back on the mic, because, if I could be honest with you, I don’t even know who wrestles there anymore.

Also he’s way off on the people still around from that first Mania
Tito, Hammer, Brutus, Orton, Barry Windham, Mike Rotundo, Jimmy Hart, & Wendy Richter. Two things that go great together the Body and misinformation to make himself look more important

It sounds like it's a Legends Deal. If that's the case than that's great.

That means he can be put in the Video games, get action figures, and they could make merch if they so desired. I fail to see the issue here. It's not like they're signing him to be a full time commentator or something.

Did you hate him as a commentator in the 80's? I mean yeah dude's a fucking nutjob and a garbage person now but he was a big name back then and the idea of WWE being able to make money off of his Name, Image and Likeness is logical.

I wouldn't put him on live TV. I probably wouldn't even have him at WWE World doing autographs and Meet & Greets.

Not sure about Jesse being a piece of shit, he's definitely a bit of a narcissist with a penchant for overexaggerating, but he's also pro-marijuana, pro-LGBTQ, and pro-human rights.

He's also Minnesotan so my blinders are on full blast :kawhi
