Personally it sounds like an attention grab, the song, isn't about shooting. It's about a man whos a player, she's saying you're not gonna play me. Yes it contains the line Hit me with your best shot, and fire away. But until she brought it up I don't think anyone ever made a connection with gun violence. It's her concert, her song, her setlist, but to me it still feels like a dumb way to make yourself relevant again. With Kate Bush hitting the charts again is because of Stranger Things could it just be ego?

Definitely knows what she's doing and she's fishing for attention. If anything, that song celebrates strong women. She should have gone the other way around and announced every time she's about to sing it that it's dedicated to victims.
