1962-2002 was the heyday for the James Bond franchise.
Every James Bond film made after 2002 has been terrible and boring in my opinion.

You are mostly right except that Casino Royale was very good and that there were still bad Bond films before 2002 most of Roger Moore's for example. It is that sort of series which is always going to throw up its fair share of duds.

Right we have had your best and worse Bond films, but what about theme Tunes? This is a key part of any great movie and certainly there have been some classics over the years but more recently there has been some terrible ones too.

My Top Five Bond Themes
1. Goldfinger - Shirley Bassey
2. Live and Let Die - Wings
3. Nobody Does It Better/The Spy Who Loved Me - Carly Simon
4. Diamonds Are Forever - Shirley Bassey
5. A View To A Kill - Duran Duran

Five Worse Bond Themes
1. For Your Eyes Only - Sheena Easton
2. You Know My Name (from Casino Royale) - Chris Cornell
3. Tomorrow Never Dies - Sheryl Crow
4. Licence To Kill - Gladys Knight
5. All Time High (Octopussy) - Rita Coolidge

I can't believe I missed this thread, I am a massive James Bond fan. I have all the DVDs and a couple of times a year I set aside a weekend to watch them from start to finish.

Can't believe the hate Man With the Golden Gun is getting! Great seeing Timothy Dalton getting some respect, so under rated. He was fantastic in his portrayal and produced two quality movies.

Here are my rankings for each movie but I am breaking it down into categories by the actor who played James Bond

Sean Connery
1. Dr No
2. Goldfinger
3. Diamonds Are Forever
4. From Russia With Love
5. Thunderball
6. You Only Live Twice

George Lazenby
1. Her Majestys Secret Service

Roger Moore
1. The Spy Who Loved Me
2. The Man With The Golden Gun
3. A View to a Kill
4. For Your Eyes Only
5. Moonraker
6. Live and Let Die
7. Octopussy

Timothy Dalton
1. The Living Daylights
2. Licence to Kill

Pierce Brosnan
1. Golden Eye
2. Tomorrow Never Dies
3. The World Is Not Enough
4. Die Another Day

Daniel Craig
1. Casino Royale
2. Quantom of Solace

There are only a few Bond films that I really don't like and they are Die Another Day appaling end to a great Bond, Her Majestys Secret Service completely wrong actor cast and Quantom of Solace an action film rather than a Bond. I can pretty much find good things about all the other films and I will watch them when in the mood.

For my favourite overall it would have to be;

1. Spy Who Loved Me
2. Dr No
3. Goldfinger
4. Man With the Golden Gun
5. The Living Daylights

Have not seen either Die Another Day or QOS but suspect both are a bit shit. Still would like someone to explain what is wrong with Octopussy? I am no Moore fan but that always seemed one of his more enjoyable Bond outtings.

Octopussy just doesn't do anything for me when I watch it, the story doesn't draw me in and it isn't a movie that I can watch again and again. Maud Adams is fantastic in her role as Octopussy but overall I find the story to be a bit weak compared to others. Then again I do actually like A View to a Kill, haha, so it is all very subjective.

^Think it has a soild villain, decent Bond Girl and some fun stunts and chases, also the location shooting is pretty impressive. The other Moore one I like is Moonraker possibley because of the novity of Bond going into space and the name Dr Goodhead lol. Spy Who Loved Me is a guilty pleasure the rest are pretty much trash.

Spy Who Loved Me is the pefect Bond film in my opinion. It has an excellent Bond Girl who can actually match it with Bond, it has one of the best villians ever in Jaws and it had some excellent battle scenes. Moonraker I like but I find it a little bit silly that James Bond went to space, I think they went a little step too far with that story.

Don't think any Bond with Moore in can be called the perfect Bond film just can't take him serious like I did Connery or Dalton. To me TSWLM is a cheeky, guilty pleasure nothing more and nothing less.

He is more humourous and camp than all other Bonds, only Bronsnan comes close to him, but he still fits the character so well. I just think that it is such a well rounded Bond film.

Yeah but that is because he can't act not because he is playing James Bond lol. I am no Bronsnan fan but think he made a decent Bond and filled the void Moore couldn't.
