SAL winless since trading for Kobe:
Even though he is pretty much can just afford to coast it is still not a good look to have 5 straight losses. He did just get Chris Paul healthy and facing the 11th place IYF squad so logically that losing streak should end. However despite Kobe claiming he is still going to return this season with the state of the Lakers there is a good chance he doesn't get anything out of Kobe and traded Demarcus Cousins for nothing at all.
12 in a row and counting:
After pulling out a 8-5 victory over SAL he extends his winning streak to 12 in a row now adding to the all time winning streak. Also with that victory he now holds a victory over every team in the league this year as well to add another accomplishment to his great year. Only questions at this point is how much longer will this streak keep going and will this translate into a dominate playoff run.
Will the defending champ make the playoffs?:
Not exactly a question we thought we would be asking but an injury filled rocky season makes it reasonable to ask. Season is dwindling down with only 5 weeks left and Showtime currently sits in 9th place. As close as the lower seeds are he could very easily get in but it could come down to the last week in the season to find out who is in and not in. Bad news is it doesn't exactly get easier this week as he is going up against the hottest team in the league currently in Notorious team DRUMMOND. Good news is after that he plays the 12th, 13th and 14th ranked team in 3 of the final 4 weeks after that.
Top 3 teams:
Run N Gun, downtown chuckers & DRUMMOND are the top 3 teams in the league right now and all won this past week having over 110 category wins so far. Week 19 should be a key week as that is the week Run N Gun and downtown chuckers face off. Notorious seems to have the best chance at finishing number 1 being on his winning streak plus only playing one current playoff team in the final weeks of the season and that is Brandon's team. This is important because every single champion has been a top 3 team going into the playoffs and twice that team was the 2 seed. So if you want to go by history as it stands now one of these 3 teams will win the title. If these 3 teams all have less than steller finishes to the season Brandon, Sal and CWalker's teams all have over a 100 cat wins and still have a chance to maybe sneak into the top 3.
Streak of consistency coming to an end?:InYourFace has been one of the most consistent teams in the WS league making the playoffs ever year generally having a good team. But this year hasn't been up to standard while he sits in 11th place. He either has to hope his team pulls it together for the stretch run so he can sneak into the playoffs or try and make a splash shake up to his team whether from a key waiver pick up or two or via trade. He runs into SAL this week who could use a win to break his losing streak but after that only plays one more current playoff team.
