WCW The Great American Bash 1990 - NWA World Heavyweight Championship: Ric Flair (c) vs Sting {with The Dudes with Attitudes [Junkyard Dog, Paul Orndorff, & The Steiner Brothers (Rick & Scott Steiner)]}

So Ole Anderson has to be handcuffed to El Gigante during this, and the Dudes with Attitudes are here to make sure the Horsemen don't get involved. We start with Sting winning the first few exchanges with his strength. Sting no-sells Flair's chops and hits a big military press slam. Flair tries to roll out of the ring like he normally would, but the Dudes stop him. Flair rolls out onto the ramp now, and Sting follows him down it and hits a hip toss on the ramp, and clotheslines him back inside the ring. This crowd is crazy hot. Flair finally gets something going after a thumb to the eye. Flair hits a big suplex, but Sting gets up quickly, and hits a few clotheslines, followed by a diving crossbody for a two count. Flair regroups outside before coming back in, and he goes right for Sting's formerly injured knee. Sting comes back, but misses an elbow, and Flair goes for the Figure-4 early, but Sting blocks it. Both men are back up now, and Flair catches him with some cheap strikes that Sting sells this time. Flair tosses him outside on to the hard ramp, and follows him out. Back in the ring, Flair continues to go for the knee, and also hits some chops in between knee strikes. Sting's limping now, but he fights back with some big strikes, but misses a dropkick, and Flair continues to work on the knee. Sting moves out of the way of a knee drop, and Sting locks in his own Figure-4 on Flair. Flair gets out, and ends up pulling Sting outside of the ring, and slams him into the rail but Sting no-sells it :mark: They get back in the ring, and Flair begs for Sting to wait, but Sting just gets on top of him and punches Naitch right in the face. Flair tries to go up top, but of course that doesn't work. Sting gets a close two count with a backslide, but Flair catches him with a sweet leg sweep to the knee :mark: Flair is in complete control now, and goes for the Figure-4 again, but Sting kicks out of it once more. Flair stays in control though, but Sting starts no-selling Flair's chops again, and he hits a big military press slam on Flair without selling the knee at all. Sting sends Flair to the turnbuckle and Flair goes up and over, but Sting clotheslines him as he's running down the apron :mark: Sting hits the Stinger Splash in the corner, then locks in the Scorpion Deathlock, and the crowd is going crazy. The Horsemen come running out now, and start brawling with the Dudes. The Dudes push them back, and this Scorpion looks like one of his TNA Scorpions by the time Flair gets to the ropes. Flair ties to use the ropes for a cheap pin, but Scott Steiner pushes them off, and we get some chain wrestling now between these two with some close two counts. The crowd bites at everyone of these two counts, it's great. Sting ends up hitting his bad knee on the turnbuckle, and Flair goes for the Figure-4, but Sting reverses it into a roll-up and pins him for the win :mark: The ending was fucking awesome and I love how they didn't have Flair ever actually lock in the Figure-4 because of Sting's knee being hurt since it wouldn't be believable at all for Sting not to submit. These two have had better matches, but this was good and Sting finally winning the belt was worth the wait. Can't wait for The Black Scorpion feud to start now 8D

WWF SummerSlam 1990 - Steel Cage Match for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship: Rick Rude (with Bobby Heenan) vs Ultimate Warrior (c)

Warrior tries to climb the cage instead of going through the door and Rude meets him at the top so the bell rings. Wait so couldn't Warrior just drop down now and win :hm: Anyway, they exchange some blows and Warrior knocks Rude down, then climbs inside and hits a diving blow. Warrior slams Rude into the cage a few times and taunts a lot. Warrior then misses a splash and ends up hitting the cage hard. Rude tries to climb out, but Warrior catches him before he can get over. Rude kicks him off, then hits with a diving forearm shot. Rude's been busted open now from the shots to the cage, and he sends Warrior into it now. Warrior starts fighting back now, and they exchange some strikes. Rude takes control with a rake to the eyes, and then rubs Warrior's face on the cage. Warrior fights back again, but Rude goes for the Rude Awakening quickly only for Warrior to power out of it, and clothesline Rude. Warrior quickly goes for a splash, but Rude gets the knees up. Nice exchange there, and Rude ends up hitting the Rude Awakening this time. Instead of covering him, Rude tries to climb out instead, but instead he hits a big shot from the top of the cage. Heenan opens the door for him, but Rude goes up to the top again, and this time Warrior catches him with a shot to the gut when he comes down. Warrior tries to go out the door, but Heenan slams it hard into his face, and this gets a two count. Both men end up colliding in the middle of the ring and they're both down. Rue goes for the door, and Heenan tries to pull him out, but Warrior catches his ankle. Warrior pulls Rude's tights down and all the girls scream in the crowd. Warrior pulls Heenan in for some reason and takes him out with a big right hand, then an atomic drop that sends him back out. Rude then catches him with a clothesline. Rude works on him, but Warrior no-sells all his strikes, then hits him with some clotheslines. Warrior hits the military press drop, and climbs down the cage, taunting Rude as he dropped down. Wait, it's already over. That was really quick, and it started boring, but the middle part was pretty fun.

Always find this Warrior/Rude match a little underwelming compared with their other PPV efforts, maybe because it was a bit rushed.

WCW Halloween Havoc 1990 - NWA World Heavyweight Championship: Sid Vicious vs Sting (c)

Vicious takes a cheap shot on Sting to start this one, then catches him off the ropes and hits a backbreaker that Sting no-sells. Sting takes him down, and tries to lock on a Figure-4, but Vicious escapes and rolls outside the ring. Back inside, Vicious takes control with an eye rake, but then misses a clothesline and ends up over the top rope. Sting follows him outside, and slams Vicious into the steel post. They're back in the ring now, and Sting starts working on the arm. Vicious fights back now, and we get some chain wrestling and Vicious does a nip-up and takes out Sting. That was nice a nice exchange. Sting is able to get a two count with a sunset flip, but Vicious catches him with a clothesline. Vicious taunts a little and then works on Sting's traps. Sting fights back to his feet, and gets out of the trap claw, but Vicious catches him with a powerslam for a two count. Vicious taunts for like 10 seconds before he goes for a pin every time. Vicious keeps control with some body blows and chokes on the ropes. Sting reverses an irish whip, then goes for a Stinger Splash but Vicious moves, and he looks gassed. Vicious works on the neck area some more and then hits some body blows before taunting some more. While he's taunting, sting goes up top and hits a crossbody, but Vicious kicks out at one and gets right back on Sting. More of the same forearm blows by Vicious, but then he hits a big clothesline with Sting on the apron. Vicious misses an elbow, then Sting misses one and they're both back to their feet. Sting lands some strikes, then hits a one-armed bulldog. Vicious is able to catch Sting in the face with a big boot though, and they end up on the ramp. Sid fights him farther up the ramp, and hits a scoop slam halfway up it. Vicious ends up back in the ring, but Sting gets fired up and hits a shoulder block from the ramp into the ring. Vicious ends up outside and Sting hits a slingshot crossbody. Vicious like tries to leave I guess and the Horsemen just casually walk by Sting and Vicious, I don't know where they're going. Vicious and Sting are like backstage by now as the ref is distracted by Flair and Anderson. Sting and Vicious finally come back, and Sting goes for a scoop slam, but Vicious falls on him for the three count lol what is this shit. Sting comes back out with a rope tied around him and apparently it wasn't the real Sting that Vicious pinned. Balloons are falling as Sting hits a Stinger Splash, then a small package for the real win I guess. What the fuck was that shit. In the replay we see Sting coming back out and seeing the fake Sting before getting back in the ring to win. This match wasn't great to begin with and that ending was fucking terrible.

WWF Survivor Series 1990 - Grand Finale Match of Survival: Hulk Hogan, Tito Santana, & WWF World Heavyweight Champion The Ultimate Warrior vs Ted DiBiase & The Visionaries [Power & Glory (Hercules & Paul Roma), Rick Martel, & The Warlord] (with Slick & Virgil)

So this match is the survivors of the other matches against each other. The face team were all sole survivors as was DiBiase. The Visionaries won their match without anyone being eliminated for the first time ever. Warlord starts out gets double teamed by Hogan and Santana, and Santana hits a running crossbody to eliminate him already :lmao Roma comes in and quickly takes it to Santana, and hits a big powerslam before tagging in DiBiase. DiBiase has control of Santana pretty easily with a nice suplex, but Santana ducks a clothesline and hits his own, followed by a big back drop. Santana misses his flying forearm though, then DiBiase catches him with a hot shot on the top rope for the elimination. Hogan is in now, and takes it to DiBiase. DiBiase catches him with a clothesline though and tags in Hercules for some double team. Hercules control of Hogan and tags in Roma again who gets a two count off of a diving shot. Roma tags in Martel for the first time, and he continues to work on Hogan, focusing specifically on the lower back. Hercules gets tagged back in now. Hogan is really taking a beating now as Hercules tags in DiBiase for some more double team. DiBiase hits some fist drops now and gets a two count after three. DiBiase tags back in Hercules and he hits some more strikes on Hogan. Hercules tags in Roma and then Power & Glory connect with their GOAT Power-Plex :mark: Of course Hogan no-sells it though  Then he hits a clothesline on Roma to eliminate him. Martel quickly comes in, but Hogan is finally able to tag in Warrior and the crowd goes nuts. Warrior hits like 45 kicks to the gut in the corner before taking out all the team members. Warrior no-sells some shots, then hits a couple scoop slams before tagging Hogan back in. Hogan hits the big boot, then sloppily clothesline Martel through the middle rope. Martel botched that one a little, but Hogan might have been at fault some too. Either way, Martel says fuck it and leaves and gets counted out. DiBiase comes back in now and locks up with Hogan. DiBiase takes control early, but Hogan ends up hitting a clothesline, then a big alley-oop in the corner. Hogan hits the big boot/leg drop combo to eliminate DiBiase. Warrior gets tagged in and hits some clotheslines on Hercules, followed by a shoulder block and his splash for the win. Hogan counted along with the pin for some reason, and then they double team Slick after the match. Yeah, that was a pretty meh match.

WCW Starrcade 1990 - Steel Cage Match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship (with Dick the Bruiser as Special Referee): The Black Scorpion (with four Black Scorpion Messengers) vs Sting (c)

I'm not even going to attempt and talk about the shit that happened before this one started with the Scorpion's entrance, so we'll just get to the match. They lock up at the beginning, and Scorpion takes control with a back suplex. Scorpion misses an elbow, and Sting's back up to his feet. Scorpion hits some forearms now, then goes to slam Sting in the cage, but Sting blocks it. Sting ends up hitting a clothesline after more slow offense. More slow paced stuff, and Scorpion catches Sting with a clothesline. The crowd is completely dead as Scorpion hits a side suplex for a 0 count. I few fans yell stuff like "come on Ric" :lmao Scorpion is still in control now and locks on a triangle choke. He just lets Sting out after a little while, then takes him back down with a back elbow. He uses the ropes for the pin and Dick gets in his face about that. Scorpion Irish whips Sting into the corner a couple times, then hits an inverted atomic drop. This is the slowest match I think I've ever seen. Two count after a snapmare by the Scorpion. Scorpion then locks on a reverse chinlock, what joy. Scorpion keeps putting his foot on the rope and Bruiser just takes it off every time without even warning him. Scorpion rakes both eyes now, giving up the chinlock. Scorpion hits some strikes now, taking Sting down with them as a few people in the crowd "woo" him. Sting finally does something after a leapfrog and hits a military press followed by a clothesline. Sting then misses a running crossbody though, and goes right into the cage. Scorpion starts choking Sting now, and Bruiser gets in his face again. Sting catches Scorpion with a boot from the corner, for a close two count. Sting hits a nice suplex now, and I think I see a little blond coming out of the mask from Scorpion. Sting hits some big strikes in the corner now, but Scorpion catches him with an eye poke. Sting then gets rammed into the cage by Scorpion. This match is literally putting me asleep. Scorpion rams Sting into the cage now as he's caught between the cage and the ropes, then head first on the other side. Scorpion then hits a piledriver, and Sting is able to get his foot on the rope to stop the count. Both men are back up to their feet now, and Scorpion locks on a neck vice, taking Sting down. Sting fights out of it though and takes Scorpion down with some strikes. Botched slam into the cage, and then Scorpion rams Sting into it who pretty much just jumps himself to hit it. Sting ends up in control again with a bulldog. Sting hits a Stinger Splash in the corner now, and then locks on the Scorpion Deathlock, but the Scorpion is able to get to the ropes. Sting is able to ram him into the cage now, and takes off the mask but there's another one on under it :lmao Scorpion goes up top now, and Sting follows him, but Scorpion knocks him off. Scorpion randomly falls off the ropes now, and Sting goes up top, but Scorpion catches him and goes to Irish whip him, but Sting reverses it. Another both and after a second Sting just slams him into the cage again, then again, then hits a military press into the cage. Sting biels him across the ring, then hits a big clothesline. Scorpion is bleeding I think as Sting goes up top and hits a sort of crossbody for the three count. THANK FUCKING GOD THAT SHIT IS OVER FUCK THIS MATCH. Anyway after the match the other Scorpion messengers come in the ring for Bruiser and Sting to unmask them and such. Windham and Anderson come out now and take out Sting with a chair. Scorpion hits Sting with the chair a lot as some jobber faces run out to the cage now and try to climb it. Finally the Steiners come out and cut the lock as Sting gets back to his feet, and he unmasks the Scorpion to reveal that it's Flair with his hair cut short. HOLY SHIT WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED IT. Holy shit I'm so glad that angle is over now. Never bring it up again.

WWF Royal Rumble 1991 - Royal Rumble Match: WWF Tag Team Champion Bret Hart vs Brian Knobbs vs Bushwhacker Butch vs Bushwhacker Luke vs Crush (with Mr. Fuji) vs Davey Boy Smith vs Dino Bravo (with Jimmy Hart) vs Earthquake (with Jimmy Hart) vs Greg Valentine vs Haku vs Hercules (with Slick) vs Hulk Hogan vs Jake Roberts vs Jim Dugan vs WWF Tag Team Champion Jim Neidhart vs Jimmy Snuka vs WWF Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect (with Bobby Heenan) vs Paul Roma (with Slick) vs Randy Savage vs Rick Martel vs Road Warrior Animal vs Road Warrior Hawk vs Saba Simba vs Shane Douglas vs Smash (with Mr. Fuji) vs The Texas Tornado vs Tito Santana vs Tugboat vs The Undertaker (with Brother Love) vs The Warlord

Out first is Bret Hart and fuck he better go a long ways :mark: Dino Bravo is out at number two. Number three is Greg Valentine, shame he doesn't have his jet black hair anymore. Valentine eliminates Bravo, then goes after Jimmy Hart and pushes him off the apron. Paul Roma comes out at number four. Valentine and Roma are going at it and Bret just waves them off :lmao The Texas Tornado is out at number 5, and the crowd goes nuts for him. Number 6 is Rick Martel. The heels sure are going after other heels in this match, more so than in past Rumbles. Out at number 7 is Saba Simba :lmao this gimmick. Martel has been almost out so many times so far. Bushwhacker Butch is out at number 8. Simba tries to eliminate Martel, but Martel holds on and Simba goes out. Jake THE GOAT Roberts out at number 9, and he goes straight for Martel. Number 10 is Hercules, coming to join his Power and Glory partner, Roma. Tito Santana comes out at number 11, right as Roberts ducks Roma for him to be eliminated. Out at number 12 is The Undertaker, and he eliminates Bret instantly with his power. Jimmy Snuka comes out with his afro at number 13. Undertaker eliminates Butch with ease. Number 14 is Davey Boy Smith, and he goes right for Valentine. Martel is almost out AGAIN, but is able to hold on as Smash comes out at number 15. I swear Martel has been on the apron more than in the ring, and he just eliminates Roberts from it FUCK! Number 16 is next and it's Road Warrior Hawk who attacks everyone. Out at number 17 is Shane Douglas lol what how is he in this. Tornado and Snuka get eliminated around the same time by 'Taker and Hawk respectively. Number 18 is late apparently as no entrant comes out, and the crowd is so confused :lmao then they start booing. Road Warrior Animal comes out at 19 I guess. 18 has apparently forfeited his position lol. The Legion of Doom hit a double clothesline to eliminate Undertaker, then Martel eliminates Hawk right after, then survives ANOTHER trip to the apron without being eliminated. Crush is out at number 20. Number 21 is Hacksaw Jim Duggan who's out to a big pop from the crowd. Earthquake is out at number 22. He's able to eliminate Animal pretty fast. Out at number 23 is Mr. Perfect :mark: Perfect eliminates Duggan, thank the gods. Valentine and Martel have both been in for over 40 minutes. Hogan comes out at 24 and eliminates Smash, then goes after Earthquake. Out at number 25 is Haku, and Hogan eliminates Valentine, so it's time for Martel to set his 52 minute record soon. Jim Neidhart comes out at number 26 and he trips over the bottom rope getting in :lmao Earthquake just tosses Santana out wit' da greatest of ease. Out at number 27 is Bushwhacker Luke, and :lmao Earthquake eliminates him instantly. Brian Knobbs of The Nasty Boys is out next at lucky number 28. Knobbs eliminates Hercules, who was in for awhile. Number 29 is out and it's The Warlord, and he's already beaten his record of two seconds from last year. Apparently number 18 was either Tugboat or Savage because those are the only two left. Crush gets dumped over the turnbuckle by Hogan. Hogan eliminates The Warlord lol this guy has a combined like 2 minutes of Rumble time in his two appearances. Tugboat is out at number 30, so Savage no-showed apparently. They say he no-showed because Warrior was looking for him. Douglas was finally eliminated. Hogan almost gets eliminated by Tugboat, then Hogan comes back in and eliminates him as Smith eliminates Perfect with a dropkick when Perfect was on the top rope :( Martel eliminates Neidhart, and this guy has had the best Rumble performance as of this event. Smith eliminates Haku. Smith crotches Martel over the top rope and then clotheslines him off. Give that guy a fucking standing ovation, he was on the apron more than he wasn't. Smith gets eliminated by Knobbs and Earthquake, and we're down to just three. They really work over Hogan, and Earthquake ends up hitting the Earthquake Splash on him, but Hogan he gets right up and big boots Knobbs over the top rope. Hogan tries to slam 'Quake, but he can't lift him. Earthquake slams Hogan now, then tries to pin him for some reason, and Hogan throws him off and then starts his Hulk-up. Hogan taunts a lot, forcing Earthquake to sell a big boot that didn't take him down for like 15 seconds. Hogan slams 'Quake, then clotheslines him over the top rope to win. My thoughts: RICK FUCKING MARTEL :mark: Oh and lol this was a 29-man Rumble.

^Yeah think that was one of the better early Rumble, and like you said Martel was one of the highlights. The good things about that kind of match from the era was that it gave the likes of him more of a chance to stand out.

It's just hard for me to get into any of these Rumbles when there's no real prize to win them yet.

To be fair because the concept was so unique and they sold it so well then it didn't matter too much to me.

WCW WrestleWar '91 - WarGames: Brian Pillman, WCW United States Tag Team Champions The Steiner Brothers (Rick & Scott Steiner), & Sting vs The Four Horsemen (Barry Windham, WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair, & Sid Vicious) & Larry Zbyszko (with Arn Anderson)

So Zbyszko is a last minute replacement for Anderson, and Pillman's shoulder is injured after a Horsemen attack on Saturday Night. Windham starts out for his team, and Pillman jumps in the cage quick as his team is trying to decide who should start because they didn't want him to :mark: We get some back and forth action, then Brian uses the top of the cage for a dropkick, then a hurricanrana using it :mark: Pillman stays in control and hits a missile dropkick, but could barely jump because of the top of the cage. Windham starts to gain control, but Pillman just low blows him :lmao Pillman then rams Windham into the cage multiple times and scrapes his head over the chain link. Windham's busted open now as Pillman hits a jawbreaker. Pillman is on fire as he hits a diving clothesline on Windham, then just sends him into the second ring. Windham is bleeding so bad. The five minute period ends, and we get a coin toss to see who gets the man advantage. The Horsemen team wins it, and Flair comes right in, and goes for Pillman. They get in a chop battle and the crwod is hot as fuck :mark: JESUS I'M MARKING FOR PILLMAN SO HARD! But now the Horsemen are able to double team him and ram him into the cage, targeting his shoulder specifically. They send him back into the other ring and I'm pretty sure he hit the top of his head on the fucking cage going over. The two minutes are up, and Sting comes in for his team. Sting takes out both Horsemen, going nuts with strikes on Flair and Windham, then hits a big double clothesline. Pillman and Flair are in one right as Sting and Windham are in the other. Sting hits a big bulldog on Windham, then switches with Pillman, and hits a bulldog on Flair. Windham has control of Pillman now, and this is getting so hard to follow. All four are in one ring now, just brawling it out with the faces mostly in control. Sting no-sells Flair's chops, then takes it to him and holy shit the crowd is so hot. Sting hits the Stinger Splash, and Pillman locks on the Figure-4 on Windham as Zbyszko comes in. Sting dives over the far ring into the one their in to hit Zbyszko :mark: Windham's still in the Figure-4 as Zbyszko and Flair double team Sting to take control. The numbers games has caught up to the faces, and Flair really takes it to Pillman now. Rick Steiner come sin now for his team, and takes out both Flair and Windham. The faces are all in control now with their respective opponents. Rick slams Flair into the cage, and Flair is bleeding now too. Sting gets slammed into it by Windham now, who then takes control of Rick as well. Rick and Flair end up on the middle rope and Rick just rubs Flair's face into the cage. Vicious comes in now as the final man for his team. He slams Rick into the cage and Flair just punts Rick in the nuts :lmao Pillman is able to bash Flair into the cage now as Vicious kills Sting. Rick just no-sells a cage shot and slams Zbyszko in it :mark: Flair and Windham have really taken a beating in this match, Pillman too. Sting's busted open now too, at least I think that's his blood. The heels look to be in control now, save for Sting taking it to Flair. Scott comes in now for his team and The Match Beyond has begun. Scott takes out both Flair, and Windham, then hits a Tiger Driver on Zbyszko, then takes out Vicious with a Steiner-line. Sting hits a Stinger Splash on Flair, then locks on the Scorpion Deathlock. Zbyszko breaks it up though as Vicious really works over Pillman's shoulder, how is this guy still alive. He rips the tape off of Pillman's shoulder now, as the Rick locks in a Figure-4 on Windham. ALL FOUR FACES LOCK ON FIGURE-4s HOLY FUCKING SHIT :mark::mark:mark: Vicious is out first, and most of the others get out too save for Zbyszko who obviously isn't a real Horseman. Sting then starts military pressing Flair into the cage roof, never really cared for that spot to be honest, but it was alright here. HOLY FUCK VICIOUS JUST KILLED RICK WITH A CLOTHESLINE! Then Rick answers with his own :mark: Rick is down after some double team by Windham and Vicious. Zbyszko has just had his face pushed into the cage for like 3 minutes straight by Pillman lol. Pillman and Flair get in another chop battle :mark: The crowd is so hot. Scott hits a DDT on Windham but it was meh, but as he's coming up Vicious KILLS HIM WITH A BIG BOOT :mark: Vicious just lifts Pillman into the top of the cage, and throws him down, then FUCKING BREAKS HIS NECK WITH A POWERBOMB JESUS! He hits a regular powerbomb this time, and Pillman is like dead. Anderson says tell them to ask Pillman but Pillman is like dead lol UGH! El Gigante comes down and apparently he's friends with Pillman. He rips the door open and says to call the match because Pillman is 9 different kinds of dead. lol Gigante literally drags Pillman out and carries him to the back. Okay, pretend Gigante wasn't there because THAT MATCH WAS FUCKING AMAZING! Going on record: Best WarGames match ever. Fuck, I've seen this once before, but I didn't remember it being that good :homer:

92 was even better, all the subplots in that match, plus the crowd heat, and it was at the height of the Sting-Dangerous Alliance feud until a certain Cowboy decided to kill it:mickie2:

Apart from the finish Sid killed this match, but it was still very good I agree.
